Through Agile Consulting and Agile Coaching we help companies embed Agile practices and ensure the benefits are do not stop with software developers. Maximising the benefits of Agile development requires changes not just the teams who wrote software but also those who interface to the development teams and how the teams themselves are managed and governed.
Agile development training is often the first point of contact Software Strategy has with a new client. Other clients start with a health-check report or jump right into advice sessions.
While we are probably best know for advising teams on Agile processes we also work with product owners, business analysts and product managers to improve the requirements side of work. Indeed, without a good requirements flow even the best agile process will produce little value.
Help may be delivered in a consulting or coaching style and is often backed up with written notes or reports. Our software development health-check results in a formal report with recommendations.
Clients appreciate our “light touch” consulting style which sees us visit several days a month to review progress, problems and talk next steps. Other clients prefer a more engaged style and we can accommodate these too.
It doesn’t matter if it goes by the name Agile, Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean or Xanpan – at the end of the day its about making your team perform better.
Software Strategy offers advice either in an “embedded” mode, we join the team and work with the team and managers day-in-day out. In the extreme we may even take on an interim manager role.
More often we work in “light touch” or “drop in” mode: here we visit occasionally, one day a week or a few days a month. We may start facilitating planning meetings and retrospectives and over time drop in to help staff reflect and ask questions as needed. [/su_list]
