Staged consulting and coaching
Software Strategy prefers to adopt a staged approach to Agile adoption supported by expert consults and coaching. The initial engagement takes the form of a short assessment of several days. The result of this assessment is a report on opportunities for improvement and recommendations on how to go about realizing these opportunities.
Recommendations may include:
- Formal training in Agile methods
- Formal training in technical aspects of Agile development, e.g. Test Driven Development
- Organizational changes to improve effectiveness and Agility
- A rolling programme of
consulting and coaching to help teams improve
For small teams - seven or fewer members - the ongoing programme is likely to be at most three days a week. With larger teams, or when multiple teams are present, the ongoing programme may be involve multiple coaches.
The key objective is to bootstrap the teams own ability to see opportunities, and problems, and act to improve their own performance.
